Bishop Phillips has made remarkable strides in turning what once seemed like a vision into a tangible reality. What began as a simple inspiration to assist individuals feeling stagnant in their lives has grown into the Anointed by God Alliance, Seminary, and Chaplains, a ministry school dedicated to educating, empowering, and inspiring others.
With over twenty years of pastoral experience, Bishop Phillips has cultivated a deep understanding of spiritual leadership.
He has also served as the Chief Chaplain for the NY Regional Police Lodge #636, a position that has allowed him to contribute significantly to the training and development of chaplains nationwide.
Bishop Phillips is also a gifted musician and composer. In 2001, he co-produced the album The School at Worship, which featured a 500-voice ensemble recorded live at the Allen Cathedral of Jamaica under the direction of Rev. Floyd H. Flake. Additionally, Bishop Phillips served as the Musical Director for the Eastern Baptist Association under the leadership of Moderator William A. Watson Jr.
As a visionary educator, Bishop Phillips founded both Phillips Global Institute in New Jersey and Phillips Christian Academy in Maryland, institutions dedicated to providing quality education and adult high school programs.
He is also an accomplished author, having written his first book, Egos in the Pulpit, and a second, an autobiography entitled
A $20 Story.
On July 9, 2022, Bishop Alfred L. Phillips was appointed Pastor of the historic First Baptist Church of Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, a congregation rich in history, service, and love. In April 2024, he was appointed Director of Music and Arts for the NY Missionary Baptist Association.
All of these endeavors are for the Glory of God. Bishop Alfred L. Phillips is recognized as a chief soul winner, committed to advancing the cause of Christ.
